About Yonder
Yonder is where an opinion about what happens next becomes a bet you can be paid for.
What Yonder is
A prediction market is a simple thing usually described badly. You take YES or NO on a question that has a date and a written rule. The price is the share of the money currently on YES, so 38 per cent is what the market thinks rather than what we think, and when the date arrives one side is paid a dollar a share and the other is paid nothing.
It is built for someone who follows the news and has an opinion about it, not for someone who trades for a living. That is why every event carries the reason its number moved, in plain words, and why a dollar is enough to take a side.
The fee is 1.5 per cent of what you bet, shown before you confirm. It is the only thing we take.
How an event resolves
Every event names its source before it opens, and the source is a public record you can go and read: a price feed, an official notice, a published figure. The rule is written as a comparison rather than a judgement, so the question has one answer instead of an argument.
Most events resolve without a person. A program reads the source at the stated time and applies the test. Where a question needs a person to read it, the event says so before you bet, and the reading is published beside the outcome.
When a source is late, missing, or says something the rule did not anticipate, the event goes to review and stays open. Silence is never read as NO. An event that resolves because nothing answered is the cheapest way to lose the only thing this product has.
Where your money sits
Your balance is USDC, held one to one in a segregated account. It is not lent, not staked, and not used as working capital, so there is no version of this in which a bad quarter for us is a bad quarter for your balance.
A bet is held against the event it was placed on until that event resolves. Nothing is swept between events. Anything not inside an open bet can be withdrawn, and a withdrawal is not a favour we grant.
The numbers
A trust claim with no number beside it is an adjective. These three answer the question a new reader is actually asking, which is whether the thing pays and how soon you find out.
Volume is the number this category leads with. It says how much money moved and nothing about whether anyone was paid, so it is not here.
The fastest way to check any of it is to open an event. The rule and the source are on it before you bet.
